Off to Hawaii

Well today my son got his assignment. He and his future bride will be heading to the Island of Honolulu where he will be serving on a boat that will be gone for three months at a time patrolling the waters off the coasts of Japan, Australia and other parts unknown. The primary function of this particular base is looking for illegal activity mostly related to drug running and while this sounds glorious on one hand it will have it's challenges on the other.

He has been in war torn countries as a missionary so this seems fairly mild in comparison the only difference is that he will now have a young bride to care for.

I am proud that he is serving in the Coast Guard and I did not realize all that they do that the general public is not aware of, i have been getting quite an education these past six months!
