Our beautiful city is once again under
the siege of hot winds and extreme dry
conditions which have resulted in a fast
moving fire
It is burning in one of the most
beautiful areas of our community (near
a hiking area called the tea garden)
and our local Christian College is in
jeopardy of being burned down.
Currently there are over one thousand students
seeking shelter in their fire proof gym.
Over three hundred acres have burned in
less than two hours and so
far some wind gusts clocked at 71 mile per hour continue to blow
It is
burning out of control, seven homes have burned
so far. Please Pray
(these pictures were taken from our backyard that
is not a street light it is the full moon with
the smoke plume in the distance)

How very sad I am for this community and for all of the families of Westmont. These families are in my thoughts and prayers as the night progresses with the hope of more cooperative conditions.
sad day.
Julia-are you OKKKK??? I forgot that Montecito is close to where you live....Stay safe, all those beautiful homes and the students at the college!! We are thinking of you tonight.
I have been thinking about you today.
You don't need to request our prayers. We are already praying. Steve was up at our home in Oxnard today and could smell the fire in the air.
I hope you are safe.

Thank you ladies for your concern!
The fire destroyed so many homes several which belonged to friends.
It was a long night but today brought weather in our favor and the chance to get ahead of this fast moving fire. All things considered the fireman did a remarkable job at saving many more homes than expected.
So now begins the process of re-building... Santa Barbarans will unite, thanks again for the love!
